In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager of Research Policy, the Research Project Coordinator is responsible for coordination of communications, documentation of business requirements, and liaising with researchers in support of PHSA Research Administration (RA) projects.

Central to daily work will be the support and administration of the online PHSA Conflict of Interest (COI) declaration system, educational materials, and system improvements/sustainment.

The Research Project Coordinator will also support and participate in the development of project plans for the design, development, and implementation of new business processes that impact researchers across all of PHSA, as well as support the transition from current systems, practices, and processes.

This includes working with PHSA departments in the support of research access to data in electronic health systems.


What you'll do

  • Responsible for the coordination and administration of the online PHSA COI declaration website, including developing website improvements, providing support for researchers when needed, and troubleshooting work process issues to fulfill the mandate of full compliance with the PHSA Research COI Policy.
  • Develops new and improves on existing training and educational materials on the PHSA COI process and form, as well as assists in the implementation and communication of these changed/new materials.
  • Supports the implementation and sustainability of a new PHSA Research website, including supporting the development of a communication strategy to ensure researchers are aware of new site, implementing the strategy, and supporting authors in their new roles on the website.
  • Contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risks mitigation strategies, and monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle. Supports the Manager of Research Policy by providing regular updates on the progress as well as any areas of risk associated with the completion of the projects both within the project scope and the timeline.
  • Analyze and support design, development, and implementation of researcher identity management and access as it relates to new electronic health systems and processes being implemented across PHSA. This will include working closely with PHSA corporate groups, including clinical informatics and information technology.
  • Represents "research" on committees and working groups as requested.
  • Identifies, problem solves, and works to remove barriers to successful project completion, with emphasis on resolving issues and facilitating collaborative relationships on assigned projects. Identifies interdependencies between various groups and projects and facilitates communication amongst involved parties.

What you bring

Qualifications:


  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in a recognized university in a related discipline and four (4) years of recent experience which includes project coordination, analysis, implementation, and communications working in an university or healthcare environment.
