  • Reporting to the Director Student Success Services, this position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Student Success Services and Elder Services Department. The Academic Administrative Assistant performs administrative support duties and is responsible for several administrative and financial processes. The Administrative Assistant may be assigned additional units / departments or reassigned to other academic departments or centralized duties specific to the duties within the scope of the Academic Administrative Assistant to meet operational needs.
  • This position is within the scope of a CUPE bargaining unit; therefore, it will be filled in accordance with Article 9 of a CUPE Collective Agreement

Responsibilities:

- perform primary receptionist duties for Student Success Services and Elders Services including reception, tracking and distribution of mail, ordering office supplies, and filing and photocopying.
- provide basic and initial assistance to students and guests and schedule appointments or direct to the appropriate staff or department while adhering to student confidentiality.

  • Maintain and update Academic Advisor calendars with student appointments/meetings
  • Maintain and track data using a variety of computer programs
  • Prepare, record, and distribute meeting minutes, correspondence, and other documents
- set up files for sponsored events, tours and calendars;
- assist with updating website for the Student Success Services as needed;
- create and complete purchase orders;
- maintain professionalism;
- other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • High School Grade 12 Diploma; Minimum oneyear Office Education certification or equivalent education, and two years related office experience required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

CUPE Pay Grade 8:
$ $27.17
