Description

Working with the Ground Transportation Team, the Transborder Specialist would be assisting with quotes for various modes of Ground Transport (including Flatbed, Dry Van, LTL and FTL, Courier, etc.), managing relationships with vendors / carriers & facilitate the transportation via road transportation of customer goods from pick up to delivery at destination ensuring all documents are prepared and invoicing is complete as per agreed terms.

The job holder will ensure the customer and other required parties are kept fully informed of transportation arrangements & status on a regular basis from departure to arrival of goods.


IN THIS JOB YOU WILL:


  • Assist in the pricing and procurement of ground related trucking services for domestic Canada as well as Transborder, including Mexico
  • Confirming the correct use of vendors on freight managed by other team members
  • Reporting of KPIs relating to quotes and win percentage
  • Processes, handles and distributes all required documents
  • Running shipment reports to view historical data and rate comparisons
  • Assisting with carrier dispatch, tracking, tracing, uploading of files, documents, POD and other relevant items
  • Ensures customer requirements are met and documents are completed in a timely and efficient manner

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Surface transportation experience, with similar pricing experience
  • Ideally an understanding of Freight forwarding
  • Consolidation/deconsolidation of freight
  • Experience with Transborder trucking, US, Canadian & Mexican customs regulations
  • Understanding of transportation licensing, permits and insurance requirements
  • Knowledge in Claims and liabilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Negotiation Skills
  • Customer Focused
  • Ability to coordinate and organize several functions
