Position Summary


As a Cyber Security Analyst in our Corporate information Services group, you will be responsible for responding to and investigating a diverse range of security events.

In this role you will learn and grow your investigation, event management, and malware analysis skills and be exposed to the exciting evolution of cyber security trends and solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with your colleagues in cyber investigations, supplying specific details for the creation of reports and supply input to root cause investigations;
  • Collaborate with senior team mates to help supply direction on evolving customer solutions;
  • Stay current with evolving security threats and mitigations and continually build your knowledge of industry accepted security solutions;
  • Search for potential issues in our infrastructure and work with the broader team in the search for malicious actors;
  • Participate with the broader IT security team on security priorities, risks and programs;
  • Collaborate on the development and delivery of project deliverables and broader security solutions; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Experience_
  • University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Relevant industry recognized certification (e.g., SANS Comp-TIA, EC-Council) is an asset
  • 2+ years of experience in the cyber security field
  • Knowledge of current malware trends, IOC's and threat vectors
  • Knowledge/experience with industry recognized SIEM solutions and cyber security tools
  • Knowledge/experience correlating cyber security alerts between various platforms and sources
  • Knowledge/experience with malware analysis and reverse engineering
  • Knowledge/experience with relevant Linux and Windows operating environments, identity management systems, multi factor authentication, encryption, and a complement of traditional perimeter and endpoint security technologies.
  • Knowledge/experience with network communication fundamentals (IP stack, OSI model, VLANs, network architecture, VPNs, routing protocols)
  • Knowledge/experience with automation, scripting and/or software development

Mandatory Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
