- Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters specializing in excitation systems and speed regulators;
- Plan, supervise, and facilitate the design development and complete realization of excitation and speed control systems in accordance with specifications;
- Provide engineering expertise and advice for identifying, analyzing, and resolving project-related issues;
- Assist in commissioning voltage and speed control systems;
- Coordinate all requests for assistance regarding voltage and speed control;
- Ensure all engineering studies and related studies are carried out in a timely manner;
- Maintain engineering records and project files;
- Communicate with internal and end customers to ensure project needs are met;
- Adhere to project deadlines and budgets;
- Participate in continuous improvement of products and processes within the team.
- Prepare resource planning for the department;
- Ensure the achievement of company goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of team's professional activities;
- Lead, train, retain, and develop team members in collaboration with the HR department;
- Conduct employee performance evaluations for all team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
- 5 years of experience as a team manager of engineers;
- Registered member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ);
- Excellent knowledge and proven experience in automation systems and power electronics;
- Experience in the utilities sector;
- Knowledge of control system design for rotating machinery (an asset);
- Experience with real-time platform simulators, Matlab/Simulink, C++ (an asset);
- Programmable logic controller programming (Schneider, GE, Allen Bradley) (an asset);
- Fluency in English and French, both oral and written;
- Flexibility to travel to sites, approximately 10 to 15% per year.

Summary of the Role
Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Automation Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of the team in charge of excitation systems and speed regulators. As a key player in the ANDRITZ automation group, you will be part of the electrical engineering and product development team based in Chambly. You will be involved in new power plant projects and system rehabilitation.
Two main areas of responsibility form the basis of this position within our Canadian team.
