Job Description:


AECOM is looking for an
Environmental Professional to assist in environmental investigation and remediation programs including soil, groundwater and vapour sampling, reporting and remedial program execution.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
  • May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
  • Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
  • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental, Biosystems, Civil or Geological Engineering or Environmental Science or similar disciplines
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of knowledge/experience, Graduates are welcome to apply
  • Groundwater Monitoring purging and sample collection from monitoring wells
  • Drilling environmental drilling, ground disturbance procedures, soil description and monitoring well installation
  • Soil sampling field screening, soil sample collection procedures
  • Field notes taking organized and details field notes, recording observations
  • Safety leading and participating in field meetings, oversight of subcontractors, contribute to and following safe work practices, developing/following/implementing safety plans and a day to day basis, recognizing hazards, confidence in exercising stop work authority.
  • Strong team work, able to listen to requirements and work well with others
  • Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Flexible and hard working
  • Willing to travel within the province/country for work, including extended travel
  • Able to work outdoors, often in inclement weather conditions, physically able to walk long distances in rugged terrain and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment
