- Responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft they command and for all those on board during the flight;
- Assist in monitoring on-board geophysical equipment;
- Complete preflight inspections and postflight reports;
- Liaise with foreign aviation authorities;
- For each flight, become familiar with: the planned route/flight plan; the aerodromes planned for normal and emergency use, and the survey navigation equipment and ensure that it is in working order.
- Ensure the following has been met: the flight as planned can be made safely; and the aircraft equipment including emergency, survival and safety equipment are installed.
- A valid commercial pilot ́s licence with group 1 instrument rating;
- A valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for the purpose of traveling globally;
- Willing to travel to our global survey sites;
- Previous survey flying experience;
- International flying experience an asset;
- Experience on de Havilland Twin Otters; and
- Additional languages an asset.
