Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assume the lead estimating role on all medium to large machining and fabrication quotes.
  • Assess project requirements and estimate all labour (machining and welding) and materials required (in conjunction with Procurement Department).
  • Provide detailed labour estimate with over view of manufacturing process.
  • When required, engage with customer for clarifications and concerns with quotation submission.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to gather and consolidate information for specific projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing/machining experience and asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings mandatory.
  • Excellent work ethic in high paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize quickly and efficiently based on customer needs.
  • Previous experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Extensive knowledge of large machining and fabrication (over 500 lbs.).
  • Knowledge of welding processes an asset.
  • Ability to analyze job specifications and solve problems/issues.
  • Understanding of metallurgy and asset.
  • Proficient with computer software and strong communication skills within a team environment mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to think proactively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written instructions and follow established processes.
  • Motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Experience:

Machining Estimating: 3 years (preferred)
