    Consultant, Defined Benefit Pension Administration

    This is a hybrid position with the ability to work both virtually and from our Montreal office.

    What the day will look like

    The Pension Administration Consultant leads the operational performance for assigned clients and is expected to meet and exceed contractual performance standards and defined operational measures. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work in process is completed in a timely manner and to a quality level consistent with the plan sponsor and member expectations. This includes planning, scheduling and project management, capacity and utilization management, the delegation of tasks to meet objectives, and tracking the status of work in progress. The incumbent is responsible for identifying improvements in operations that will result in year-over-year operational workload efficiencies for their client group. This position also acts as a resource to clients, third-party administrators and all internal shared services that impact the day-to-day operations. In addition to managing written and verbal communications with clients, the incumbent facilitates meetings, conducts ad hoc conversations and at times acts as the primary contact with clients.
    • Manage strategy and planning for pension administration operations analysis resources (identify and implement operational improvements)
    • Coordinate client operations
    • Facilitate weekly operational meetings
    • Consulting with clients
    • Verify and review benefit calculations and annual statements specific to pension plans according to standards and procedures
    • Participate in the training of team members
    • Provide support to administrators and/or members for more complex cases

    Skills and experience that will lead to success
    • 5+ years in defined benefit pension plan administration
    • Experience in operations and in coaching others and optimizing their work
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Experience in project management is an asset
    • Bilingualism (French/English)
    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Accounting Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience, in a relevant industry.
