    AVP, Compliance Assurance & Control

    We are looking for an AVP, Compliance Assurance & Control to support our jurisdictional compliance teams, ensuring that Group Compliance and Financial Crime policies and procedures follow best practice and meet our legislative and regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid role, with some time required in our London office, although this is flexible.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking Compliance Validation Tests (CVT) under Butterfield's Compliance monitoring and risk management framework.
  • Determining processes under CVT scope and developing annual plans.
  • Working closely with our jurisdictional Compliance teams and relevant business areas, providing information regarding areas deemed ineffective and tracking findings and submitting relevant statistics for reporting.
  • Identifying data quality issues and recommending opportunities to strengthen our internal control structure.
  • Preparing documentation relating to queries from regulatory agencies.
  • Communicating compliance and risk management requirements to internal stakeholders; addressing queries and assisting with employee training.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and assisting other compliance analysts within the team.
  • Your qualifications and skills include:

  • A minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance/Internal Audit, preferably in the banking industry.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Strong decision making and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver all testing activities to a high standard within prescribed timeframes.
  • High ethical standards with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with absolute discretion.
  • Have an ability to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, and independently deliver high quality work.
  • Subject matter expertise in Financial Crime or Regulatory Compliance risk areas.
