As a Rail Systems Cyber Security Specialist with our Rail Systems Group, you'd be joining our multi-disciplinary design teams focusing on technical excellence and innovative solutions that create a better future for people, places, and the planet.

Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Undertaking of rail systems design for Cyber security compliance analysis with applicable standards
  • Provide assessment of the rail subsystems disciplines design compliance with applicable standards and applicable contractual requirements
  • Advise client on the applicable standards compliance and define contractual requirements.
  • Writing technical reports to record analysis performed.
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines, including rail systems, and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete assigned tasks.
  • Deliver reports and analysis according to agreed timelines and respect project deadlines.
  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.
  • Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Providing guidance on the best approach and resolve vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Conducts research and data gathering as required for Technical Advisory work.
  • Create a work plan deliverables and effort for upcoming period.
  • Serve as key personnel for respective area in the requirement management and requirements database work.
  • Advise or record identified risks and suggest mitigation actions.
  • Participating on multiple projects throughout their lifecycles, from market engagement, solution preparation, project execution and delivery, to project closeout
  • Understanding trends and best practices in the rail engineering market and in the respective area of expertise
  • Participating in local Professional Associations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronic, Information systems or similar)
  • Demonstrated previous experience in Rail & Transit Infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Rail Train Control and Signaling systems
  • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals related to transportation.
  • Experience of cyber security risk assessment in a rail environment.
  • Security certification such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent.
  • Experience in compliance with regional rail cyber legislation.
  • Ability to identify and document security gaps and suggest mitigation actions.
  • Ability to stay current on emerging security threats and technologies, researching and recommending new solutions,
  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for teambased working
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
  • Must not require sponsorship, now or in the future to be considered for this role.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronic, Information systems or similar)
  • Professional engineer accreditation
  • Coursework in transportation design
  • Knowledge of applicable codes such as AREMA, Agency Design Standards, NEC/NFPA, and related specifications and standards for design of the above elements
  • Understanding of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or Perforce Helix
  • Comprehension of the Systems Engineering "V" Life Cycle Process
  • Fluency in 3D CAD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD software to lay out rightofway, rail alignments, drainage systems, roadway design, sidewalks and pedestrian accommodation, utility systems, and grading designs
  • Proficiency in data processing and analysis using tools such as Excel, VBA, Python, or other applicable tools.
  • Certification in ISA/IEC 62443 would be desirable
  • A knowledge of CLC/TS 50701:2021
