    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

    The Business Development Manager – Industrial – is an Industrial Sector position and will be responsible to drive the Industrial sales strategy, develop and execute strategic plans with clear goals, objectives, KPIs, and customer targets for sustainable profitable growth of Industrial business in Canada. This position will grow, lead, and drive the adoption of press technology solutions through a deep understanding of the Industrial business with an emphasis on technical specifications, engineering requirements, and focused execution of sales attack plans. This position reports to General Manager of Canada and will work closely with Regional Managers and field sales team to create a collaborative approach to building the Industrial business in Canada.

    JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

  • Grow, expand, and accelerate sustainable profitable growth of Industrial sector business in Canada.
  • Proactively identify and win Industrial business opportunities by establishing and nurturing relationship with key stakeholders, particularly focusing on engineering firm, EPCs, industrial plant owners, industrial contractors, government agencies to ensure all products are in every applicable section of their master and project specifications.
  • Proactively search and connect with new Industrial projects and existing Industrial plants, define opportunities, value propositions, and develop tailored segment specific approach within Industrial sector.
  • Develop and maintain data driven customer segmentation with clearly defined account planning in CRM. Executes sales and account strategies, in accordance with strategic goals and in close collaboration with the Field Sales team.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers and Field Sales Team to create Industrial sales attack plans and provide direction regarding regarding customer targets and opportunity management to drive conversions and share of wallet.
  • Collaborate with National Distribution Manager to ensure perfect distribution for serving Industrial customers.
  • Provide regular feedback and input to the regional leadership team on sales performance, productivity, opportunity management, sales forecast, lead management and overall sales efforts on growing Industrial business in the region.
  • Increases demand for company's products by soliciting new customer calls; maintains a cycle of regularly scheduled calls and visits to customers; visits plants and facilities; grows customer/contractor database for the industrial sector.
  • Delivers professional technical presentations, utilizing product samples and on-site trainings, to various individuals, including but not limited to, facility engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators, contractors, engineering firms, etc. to advance market growth and product development.
  • Code Enforcement

  • Contacts local code officials to obtain acceptance of existing and new products.
  • Works with local inspectors to resolve installation questions and issues.
  • Reporting

  • Maintains and updates customer segmentation, and engineering specification database.
  • Provides reporting and updates to management, both ongoing and as requested regarding field activity, spec inclusion, competitors, forecasts, industry trends and new products, as well as business metrics.
  • Tracks travel and incidental expenses; prepares expense reports; ensures expenses are within budget parameters.

  • Attends meetings and training as required or assigned.
  • Participates in local societies, including but not limited to ASPE, SIA, TAPPI, ISPE, IDFA, etc. to promote an understanding of products and technologies.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

    Will be required to travel up to 70% of the time

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Certification/License & Work Experience


    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred

    AND


    • Minimum of five years of sales and business development experience in the Industrial Manufacturing sector.

    Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    • Working knowledge of customers, trends, and associations in industrial segment


    • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; SAP and Business Warehouse; Salesforce


    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
