SALARY RANGE:
$ $42.64 per hour
***: The Registered Dietitian works between two clinical programs, inpatient clinical nutrition and outpatient diabetes.

The role provides nutritional support and assessment for patients, and staff through a variety of different methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Degree plus Designation
Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and membership with Dietitians of

Canada

Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Preferred
Minimum 1-year experience in diabetes education.
Experience in individual self-care of diabetes within a chronic disease self-management framework an

asset

EFFORT:

Moderate/high degree of physical effort
High degree of mental effort and analysis

POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES AND TASKS:

Provide nutritional assessment/education and recommendations based on referral process from both IP
and OP services

Provide input into programs and policies related to nutritional services and diabetic clinics

Provide education to staff re:
appropriate menus, supplements, diet changes to improve health outcomes
Maintain/improve knowledge of current best practices for patient nutritional care
Attend team meetings
Provide or contribute to innovations in patient programming/care/program planning
Attend rounds meetings whenever possible to contribute to patient care
Lead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans
Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles

HOURS OF WORK:37.5 hours/per week, Monday - Friday
