About the Position:


Reporting to the Head of Procurement - Operations, the incumbent shall lead the procurement of goods required for the operation of the CCR Refinery and Horne Smelter, pilot the tendering process in accordance with internal customer requirements and company policies, and improve business relationships with suppliers.


  • The incumbent shall be responsible for identifying potential suppliers, negotiating goods contracts, and performing purchasing and related tasks in SAP according to organizational requests, operational needs and established procedures

More specifically, you will:


  • Develop, implement and monitor procurement strategies for the categories of goods under its responsibility.
  • Collaborate with requestors to define requirements, prepare documentation and issue calls for tenders.
  • Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, and submit selection recommendations to requestors and management team.
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms and execute agreements with selected suppliers.
  • Ensure clients' expectations are met while respecting the company's procurement policies.
  • Manage goods contracts and evaluate suppliers' performance.
  • Identify breaches of contractual clauses, draft letters of notification and claims, and negotiate settlement agreements.
  • Build strong business relationships with assigned suppliers.
  • Demonstrate safe behaviour and a constant concern for the health and safety of self, colleagues and business partners.

Skills:


  • University degree in administration, operations and logistics management, procurement or law
  • At least 7 years' experience in procurement, purchasing and contract negotiation
  • Proficiency in the contractual process, preparation of the contractual framework, modification of proforma clauses, and commercial, technical and contractual negotiations
  • Knowledge of heavy industrial parts procurement for Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO)
  • Skilled negotiator and excellent communicator with a focus on customer service
  • Autonomous and structured
  • Knowledge of SAP (an asset)
  • Demonstrated outstanding sense of ethics
  • Ability to prioritize your and your colleagues' health and safety

Bilingual (French and English)
