We are currently seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to oversee and manage our financial reporting processes, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management's discussion and analysis and other key financial documents.


As the Manager of Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of our company's financial statements, Management's discussion and analysis, accounting research and guidance including impairment assessments and technical memos.


  • Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  • Manage the creation and review of Management's discussion and analysis, providing insights and explanations on key financial metrics and trends.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of the monthly reporting and analysis provided to the Board of Directors and Ownership.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculations of financial covenants, monitoring compliance with debt agreements, and communicating any potential risks to senior management.
  • Prepare and review impairment memos, working closely with the operations team and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely assessments.
  • Research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues, ensuring that company practices are aligned with evolving accounting standards.
  • Develop policy and process documentation for key areas of the business; collaborate with leaders across the business to achieve buy in and support of these policies.
  • Work with Corporate Groups to complete annual budgets and quarterly forecasts; assist with monthly analysis of budget (forecast) to actual review.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal reporting processes, enhancing the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information provided to management and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial information, streamline reporting processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop finance staff, fostering a positive team environment that promotes professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Accounting Designation (CPA; CPA, CA).
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting or auditing with a focus on the preparation and review of financial reporting.
  • Possess a good understanding of ASPE with demonstrated knowledge and ability in researching and documenting new accounting guidance and accounting treatment of issues.
  • Oracle/Smartview expertise (desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with a focus on employee development and motivation.
  • Selfmotivated, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
