Tasks include carefully tracking temperature gauges and colour heating units furnace flames to melt metal as per requirements making sand moulds using patterns moulding boxes sand and hand tools following bench floor or pit moulding methods pouring molten metal into moulds to produce metal castings making cores for use in moulds to form holes or void spaces in castings setting up adjusting and operating various casting machines hand ladle molten metal into moulds to produce castings operating furnaces used to melt metals for moulding and casting.
