Key Responsibilities - Partners with developers on critical work needs. - Support plant trials/start up in collecting samples, data, and preparing cooling studies.
- Responsible for food safety and food quality of samples handled by: o Following GMP's, maintaining sanitary conditions, adhering to safe work practices and ensuring that product quality is maintained.
o Reporting any conditions or practices that may adversely impact food safety, food quality or personal safety to supervisor. - General management of the R&D lab space: organization, cleanliness, maintenance of equipment.Includes but not limited to:
sample receipt, labeling, and placement in appropriate environment.
- Collect, manage and maintain the R&D's lab supplies and ingredients and ensure they are constantly replenished - Point person for the reception and shipment of ingredients and samples.
- Prepare and submit samples and ingredients for analytical and microbiological testing; analyze results and report back to supervisor - Cultivate leadership to all developers on strict adherence to safety and GMP procedures in the lab.
- Ability to inspect equipment and products for cleanliness, foreign material, etcPhysical Demands:
- Must be able to physically perform the functions of balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions
- Ability to work in a flexible and fast paced environment.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- Stand or walk for long periods of time.
Qualifications:
- 12 years' experience in food processing or related industry
- Relevant postsecondary educations/training
- Have a minimum knowledge of processes and methodology used in the food industry
- Computer literacy including competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to operate effectively in a customer focused, fastpaced team environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing.
- Bilingual in French and English is required.
- Ability and willingness to work up to 5 days and approximately 1530 hours / week, occasionally required to work evenings, night shift, and weekends
