Network Infrastructure IP Routing


Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.


The IP Routing division leads the industry with the best Network Processor technology (FP5), QoS, parallel processing, Network Function Virtualization, and product quality.

Products cover the spectrum from small CPE-devices supporting a few low-speed Ethernet links to carrier-class and datacenter-class systems supporting terabits of routing capacity.

Our world-leading technology enables us to offer customers 800GE and 1.6T links with unparalleled routing features.


Job Position Description:


As a Precision Timing Hardware Tester in the IP Routing Hardware group, you will be responsible for: the development and qualification of new SyncE and PTP timing circuitry; the integration of new timing architectures into system software; the maintenance of hardware and systems integrity.

This position requires self-starters who can manage complex projects from concept through to production release.

You will work with a high-end team of engineering professionals and have major responsibly to drive the process of new product introduction.


What you will learn and contribute to

  • Building up SyncE/PTP timing test beds to qualify and tune new timing circuits
  • Working with Hardware and Software teams, Product Line Management, and Compliance team to understand internal requirements
  • Executing design verification testing

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with network equipment and pluggable optical transceivers in a hardware lab environment
  • Working knowledge of analog, digital, and softwarebased PLL design
  • Familiar with time transfer techniques such as PTP, SyncE, GNSS including IEEE 1588v2, ITU-T G.826x, and G.827x specifications
  • Programming ability in Python or Perl
