Position Purpose:
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Provides 2nd and 3rd level support related for the server, network, voice, and desktop infrastructure
- Support the implementation and ongoing operations of Microsoft 365 environment, including Azure Active Director, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft Cloud Applications.
- Plans and implements server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendorsupplied patches.
- Builds and tests technology solutions (Citrix development, servers, networking, storage, etc.)
- Creates, implements, and adheres to policies, procedures and standards across all infrastructure platforms and ensures their conformance with IT and corporate management and control objectives
- Implements, supports, and ensures enforcement in line with corporate security policies and practices
- Produces metrics and reports for functional areas of responsibility and administration policies
- Participates in reviews infrastructure project requests
- Responsible for backup and recovery procedures for all infrastructure services
- Responsible for managing and responding to system monitoring and alerting
- Participates in managing enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure and executes modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Develops and maintains training materials and server documentation.
- Works with vendors and service providers to resolve identified performance issues with implemented technologies or services
- Participates in and supports the ITIL Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes
- Participates in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution
- Actively participates in a strong cohesive team environment with the entire organization
- Research new technologies to support the Company's strategic initiatives
- Provides technical expertise in the planning, design and implementation of projects and key initiatives
- Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service delivery
- Ensures compliance to legislative, regulatory and Health & Safety policies, procedures and standards
- May be required participate in oncall rotation
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Specialized Knowledge
- University degree or College Diploma in an Information Technology discipline (or equivalent knowledge and experience)
- CCA-V or CCP-V designations (nice to have)
- Current MCSE and CCNA designations (nice to have)
- Cross functional knowledge in areas of desktop, network, routers, switches, and security and cross function tool sets to monitor IT infrastructures
- Disaster Recovery implementation and execution
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices for IT operations management
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google)
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in working in a large IT infrastructure organization
***- Experience with server virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware and Nutanix
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
- Experience with load balancing, clustering, and caching procedures and processes
- Strong infrastructure experience across multiple platforms
- Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset
