About the Role
You are the engine to SafeLend Canada growth You will lead the transitional sales floor to a high efficiency sales engine with AI support You aren't just managing people; you are the architect of a hybrid sales floor. You will lead a team of Setters and Closers while simultaneously onboarding, coaching, and optimizing with our future AI Sales Agent. You understand that an AI agent is a digital employee that needs the same 'sales coaching' and logic refinement as a human rep. You will lead the ongoing operations of the sales team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end conversion of leads into applications, managing a team of Setters and Closers. You will blend leadership with execution, often jumping onto the front lines to assist with complex loan situations or high-volume periods.
This is a fast-paced role for a leader who thrives on the "thrill of the close" and is passionate about coaching a team to hit and exceed measurable targets.
What Your Day and Week Could Look Like
- Team Leadership: Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales specialists (setters and closers). You will conduct regular huddles to review daily/weekly performance, celebrate wins, and address challenges.
- Sales Execution: Monitor and drive conversion performance throughout the funnel, from initial lead contact to submitted application. You will handle secondary escalations and assist in the completion of loan applications and document collection.
- Call Management: Lead by example in a high-volume, inbound and outbound calling environment. Instead of just coaching humans on call recordings, you will also look to provide feedback on our AI agent to help improve how it handles objections and what can make it better to create more intent conversating leads. You will monitor call quality through AI coaching and score carding to ensure exceptional service and compliance.
- Operations & Strategy: Work alongside the technical team to refine the "Sales Logic" and scripts for our AI agent, ensuring strong hand-off from AI agent to human closers and setters. Use CRM data and dashboards to track KPIs such as conversion rates, turnaround times, and daily targets. You will identify friction points in the client journey and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales activities and communications strictly adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and CASL compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to evolve the operating model and identify automation or technology enhancements to improve scalability.
- Stay informed of market trends, consumer lending dynamics, and competitive offerings in auto refinance and D2C space.
- Champion initiatives that strengthen partnerships and reinforce CanCap's reputation for innovation and reliability.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales management, auto finance, or financial services.
- Proven success leading a Direct-to-Consumer or inside-sales team focused on High Velocity Sales and loan conversion.
- Strong understanding of auto loan lifecycle, credit processes, and converting leads.
- Be available when clients are ready with flexible scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through data — analyzing KPIs and implementing operational improvements.
- Exceptional communication and coaching skills with a passion for team and client success.
- Ability to balance sales effectiveness with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience using CRM systems and lead-management tools (Salesforce experience preferred).
