    Job Description

    Our Edmonton team has a great opportunity for a Project Coordinator This is the ideal position for a recent graduate with a year or two of experience in project coordination or field engineering. You will have the opportunity to utilize and hone your skills in project controls, estimation and administration on technical work both in the field and in the office.

    This position will be deployed for fieldwork as required; candidate must be based out of Edmonton.

  • Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support technical engineering and/or research projects from initial design to completion
  • Support the full lifecycle of operational projects in accordance with company project management and safety policies and procedures
  • Develop process documents as required for estimating, planning and workflow
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead their implementation
  • Lead the tracking of project cost and schedule performance and report results to project stakeholders
  • Work directly with site leadership to determine project needs and provide the necessary support
  • Implement and execute plans in the field by working as an effective member of an operations team on site
  • Learn independently, and seek advice, guidance and assistance from department leadership
  • Present solutions to institutional challenges, and positively contribute to implementing those solutions
  • Advance through the PMI's Project Management Professional certification/designation program
  • Progress in the experience development portion of the Professional Engineer accreditation process
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Engineering Degree (preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Process) required
  • 1-2 years of project coordination experience is an asset
  • Experience as a Field EIT, working in a petrochemical plant, or experience in a MOD Yard/fabrication facility is an asset
  • Must be registered as or eligible for enrolment as an EIT with APEGA
  • Technical background with experience in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and/or MathCAD is an asset
  • Must be willing and able to travel for projects throughout Alberta, and across Canada
  • Able to provide a negative result on pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits is required
  • Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask (as required when in the field)
