Position:
Admissions Manager


Urban Academy is a rapidly growing independent school in New Westminster located in a beautiful new facility across the street from Braid Street Skytrain Station.

Reporting to the Director of Development, and working collaboratively with the Development and
Marketing Team, the Admissions Manager is a vital part of a dynamic staff team in a growing ISABC school.

They will work with internal and external stakeholders including feeder schools and placement agencies and draw on various teacher and staff team members to support admissions activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Collaboratively develop ongoing strategic goals for the department.
  • Oversee, review and adjust intake and assessment practices regularly to ensure we are on the leadingedge of innovative processes.
  • Respond to parent inquiries, offering insight into the Urban Academy Program.
  • Liaise with parents and staff to lead admissions events including webinars, tours and open houses.
  • Manage the funnel of applicants to new students.
  • Lead onboarding initiatives of new students and families.
  • Track and report admissions data.
  • Work closely with marketing to ensure admissions events and activities are professional and well presented and communicated.
  • Manage the admissions module in the student management system.

Qualifications and Experiences
Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills when working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail
  • Public speaking & presentation skills
  • Experience in planning group events
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and time sensitive processes is essential
  • The ability to show good judgement and manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Technical skills including knowledge of working within a google suite, spreadsheet/reporting skills and database software.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to see ideas move from planning to fruition.
