Position Description:


In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting proposal development efforts prior to, and throughout the proposal lifecycle.

Working here in the Atlantic region, the Proposal Manager will assist by coordinating, supporting, and participating in various proposal work streams, managing proposal development, authoring content, and formatting and production of final proposal documents.

In this role, you will advise business developers on best practices for developing compelling proposals, contributing to or authoring proposal content, and vetting submitted proposals for materials that should be included in our library of standard content.


As a Proposal Manager, you must be able to independently manage your own workload, be willing to both share and accept tasks across the team.

This role may require some flexibility relative to work schedule.

Your future duties and responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly review public tender sites for any potential opportunities
  • Manage the complete proposal process, ensuring timelines are met
  • Draft responses using an approved template and with the resume/resource provided by the Opportunity Pursuit Leader
  • Manage templates for various types of proposals per client/sector
  • Manage the debrief process for any lost opportunities
  • Develop, manage and maintain a library of standard content
  • Participate in proposal response teams for larger responses
  • Schedule, participate, and occasionally lead meetings throughout the process
  • Coordinating proposal content developed by teams or working groups
  • Formatting of large, complex documents within a provided standard template using Microsoft Office tools
  • Manipulate and create original graphics
  • Content and document management using CGI's Ensemble platform (Microsoft SharePoint)
  • Proofreading of documents for consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Proposal production including printing and binding hardcopy documents, packaging, creating digital versions for submission on different media.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role


Qualifications:


  • Ideally, you will have a minimum of two years' experience in a business development related role (proposal management, proposal support, inside sales, outside sales, or similar) in the Information Technology (IT) sector
  • A minimum of one year of experience writing competitive proposals to Government is strongly preferred
  • It is highly desirable that you possess at least two years' experience working with features of MS Word, such as Styles, Merge, Compare, and layout and formatting tools
  • It is desirable that you possess experience working in a client focused, team environment
  • You should possess a good understanding of the information technology business particularly professional services
  • It is desirable that you possess an understanding of formalized procurement processes in both the public and private sector.

Required Level of Education (include certifications):

  • Ideally, you will possess a bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline (English, Communications, Commerce/Business, Information Technology or similar)
  • It is desirable that you be willing to pursue certification under the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) or similar.
