  • Within Ontario Health, the Information Management, Decision Support and Analytics (IMDA) team supports the design, implementation and management of provincial information management/information technology solutions on behalf of the Ministry. In collaboration with OH and system partners, IMDA has developed and defined near real time data collection standards, methodology, tools and business practices imperative to ensure high quality data is readily available to a wide variety of healthcare stakeholders. Our unique approach to data lifecycle management (acquisition, management and utilization) provides meaningful information to provincial health system stakeholders to improve access, performance, efficiency and quality of care. Our work guides realtime decision making and planning; informs the evaluation of healthcare system performance; and offers recommendations to ensure a sustainable healthcare future.
  • The Manager, Data Quality and Compliance will be a key member of the Strategy, Planning and Analytics leadership team, reporting directly to the Director, Data Services. The focus of this position is to work closely with Management across Ontario Health to deliver high quality, fitforuse data, promote expert decision making and produce deliverables that support the program areas and the Ministry. The Manager, Data Quality and Compliance provides strategic oversight to drive good data quality for public and performance reporting across OH data assets, keeping the Director apprised of critical risks and issues as they arise and developing mitigations strategies as required. The Manager, Data Quality and Compliance will also provide leadership and support to team members, ensuring deliverables are met. This includes coordinating activities and allocating resources to ensure the successful delivery of all operational, strategic and implementation activities, as well cultivating stakeholder relationships and maintaining a strong collaborative working style will be a critical success factor to this role. The role is responsible for ensuring the management of data relevant to Ontario Health's mandate and strategies is executed based on plans, policies, legislations and regulatory requirements.
  • Here is what you will be doing:
  • Work closely with internal business partners, program areas, analytics teams, technology services, security & privacy and legal to ensure efficient and effective data quality and compliance of data at Ontario HealthDesign, develop and maintain domain specific data plans and strategies with the goal of ensuring data assets meet the analytic and business needs of the organization-
  • Identify and manage quality improvement initiatives and projects to ensure the data remains of high quality-
  • Manage a team of senior staff to ensure good data quality for public and performance reporting; ensuring data quality management framework and principles are adhered to-
  • Manages relationships and engages a diverse set of stakeholder groups, either to collaborate on delivery of key activities or solicit support and buy-in for operational/program activities; organizes and/or participates in committees as required-
  • Obtain Hospital's senior leadership support when data quality issues are not managed and/or resolved in a timely manner-
  • Provides leadership to ensure standardized management and methodologies when overseeing operations. Act as a change agent to foster a data driven culture that optimizes business results across the enterprise-
  • Facilitate and lead joint design sessions with various stakeholders to identify overall requirements for the program-
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of the healthcare industry, and data quality trend reporting. Develop and deliver an education and training program to internal and external submitters and users of OH data-
  • Leads the implementation of solutions to address unique or highly complex business problems, ensuring solution is thorough and practical-
  • As a member of the IMDA Leadership Team, assist with strategic goal setting and operational planning-
  • Manage assigned staff, including allocation of staff resources, delegating, scheduling and prioritizing of staff workloads-
  • Recruitment, retention, management and development activities for the team they oversee-
  • Coaches staff to ensure that continuous quality improvement initiatives are incorporated into day-to-day activities-
  • Focus on acquiring, developing and retaining
