Leede Jones Gable has the need for an individual to fill the position of Retail Corporate Finance Analyst. This exciting position involves working with Leede's sales staff to facilitate the successful completion of primarily venture transactions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Draft engagement letters in consultation with sales staff for the different types of proposed transactions involving the firm;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of grey and restricted lists for the firm;
  • Ensure that the transactions meet regulatory requirements;
  • Liaise with external counsel to plan the nature and extent of the firm's due diligence;
  • Liaise with consultants in the event specialized due diligence expertise is required;
  • Review all documents related to a transaction with the assistance of external counsel.

These may include but are not limited to:
disclosure documents, financial statements, material contracts, title opinions, and personal information forms;

  • Ensure that any disclosure document that is required to be reviewed by the firm provides full, true and plain disclosure to the best of the firm's knowledge;
  • Ensure that due diligence for a transaction is documented thoroughly;
  • Communicate with the risk management committee of the firm to the extent there are issues to do with a transaction, including reputational issues for the firm;
  • Communicate with regulators to the extent they have questions for the firm to do with a transaction;
  • Liaise with the syndication department of the firm for the closing of a transaction. Review all closing documentation with the assistance of external counsel;
  • Maintain files for each transaction that are capable of being audited by third parties, including the regulators for the firm.

Qualifications:


  • Possession of a professional designation such as a CPA or an LLB, or an MBA or CFA;
  • At least five years of professional or industry experience;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels in the firm;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet challenging deadlines; and
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
