    Performs practical nursing duties such as assessing, plans, implementing, evaluating and documenting care for patients undergoing oscopy, minor surgical procedures, wound care and other outpatient procedures; The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

    Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents practical nursing care for patients undergoing oscopy, minor surgical procedures, wound care and other outpatient procedures/consultations during the pre, intra and post-procedure/consultation periods.

    # Performs practical nursing duties during the pre, intra and post-procedure/consultation periods.
    # Documents the observations into the patient'''''s record including treatment and other patient care information during the pre, intra and post-procedure/consultation periods.
    # Participates in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, education sessions, team conferences, meetings and committees as assigned.
    # Assists with orientation of new staff, students and other members of the health care team by performing duties such as demonstrating work procedures and general department procedures.
    # Performs related clerical duties such as answering the telephone, taking and relaying messages and assisting in maintaining standardized records.
    # Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

    One (1) year recent relevant clinical experience in minor surgical procedures or other outpatient procedures and completion of relevant course work and/or certification, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/care givers, the public, medical staff and members of the interprofessional care team verbally and in writing
    Ability to promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy for patients and families/care givers
    Ability to collaborate with and promote cooperation among members of the interprofessional care team
    Ability to use factual information, prior learning and basic principles and procedures to support nursing decisions and actions with relevant research-based evidence/evidence-informed practice
    Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications
