Apollo Sheet Metal Ltd. is a successful and growing sheet metal contractor with its manufacturing facility and offices in Coquitlam, BC. We are looking to add a financial controller to our accounting team.
We are looking for a CPA who will take a hands-on role in providing financial information and support to the owner and manager to help them make informed decisions, as well as our project management team, purchasing, and manufacturing plant.
2- Oversee contract revenues/costs, update WIP adjustments, communicate with project managers regarding adequacy of billings, concerns with late payments, etc.
4- Work to improve inventory and materials tracking and PST self-assessment procedures.
5- Periodically review payroll variance accounts and make necessary adjustments to bring GL variance accounts close to net zero.
6- Ensure all accounting transactions are in accordance with GAAP.
7- Oversee filings for PST, GST, EHT, WCB, receiver general payroll remittances, union to ensure they are being filed and paid as required.
9- Reconcile bank or oversee bank reconciliations.
10- Liaise with bank, insurers, etc. as required and requested by owner.
11- Compile financial reporting for company owner - monthly financial statements, AR reports, job progress reports and other financial report undertakings as you see fit.
12- Oversee Lease billings and expenses for one triple-net leased property and one leased office space.
13- Compile year end information and work with external accounting firm for yearend statements and tax filing.
14- Generally improve accounting functions and processes. Access value and general viability of adding modules to accounting program.
15- Good spoken and written English skills.
You will be a CPA, have at least 10 years experience in an accounting capacity.
The following would be assets:
1- Experience in a construction environment and familiarity with contracts, progress billing,WIP adjustments.
2- Experience in a manufacturing environment and PST licensing - tracking inventory, self-assessing, etc.
3- Familiarity with Jonas Construction accounting software (job costing accounting program) or other job costing accounting programs.
4- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs - in particular excel.
5- Experience leading a small team.
Pay:
$80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
