We have a full time Marketing Manager position to be filled in June or July 2023. This is a maternity leave coverage contract for a duration of 12 months, with potential to become permanent.

This position has a flexible working from home policy:

you are free to work remotely, from our Vancouver office located on Granville Island, or any combination of the two - whatever works best for you.

You will be part of the small, but growing, sales and marketing team who are based in Vancouver and Victoria.

Applicants must live and work in Greater Vancouver.

Marine Learning Systems is a SaaS company that develops software to help manage training and assessment in safety-critical environments. Our initial focus has been in the maritime industry.

Our client list is growing and includes well known customers in Canada and around the world:

organizations like Disney, the Royal Canadian Navy, BC Ferries, Carnival Cruise Lines, Washington State Ferries, the Canadian Coast Guard, and many others.

About the position:


Responsibilities:


  • Lead in the development of marketing strategies and tactical campaigns to drive inbound leads for the sales pipeline
  • Write concise, compelling messaging. You'll be translating market knowledge and product functionality into benefitfirst copy that resonates with target audiences and reflects our company positioning
  • Deliver ongoing product and customer communications
  • Coordinate with customers to write press releases, and distribute releases to publications and journalists
  • Measure and analyze campaign performance; provide regular reports to the executive team
  • Support the planning and execution of company events and trade shows
  • Other marketingrelated tasks

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years of digital and content marketing experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS sales environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on copywriting: you can explain complex, technical concepts with concise language
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decisions
  • Selfstarter and adaptable: this role is not for someone who prefers a prescriptive, corporate structure; you are able to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Excellent project management and organization skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
  • Comfortable with Google Business apps, Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and marketing software such as MailChimp, Unbounce
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
Pay will be negotiated, but in a range appropriate to your skillset and experience.
