The Employee Communications team at IGM Financial is responsible for planning and delivering engaging and strategic employee communications across the IGM Financial group of companies (Mackenzie Investments, IG Wealth Management and partners with Investment Planning Counsel) to help drive a fulfilling employee experience, culture and business performance.
Success is achieved through optimizing and modernizing internal digital channels through data-driven insights, advising and supporting Business Partners on new and fresh communications to enhance our talent brand and culture, and developing integrated CEO communication programs and events to engage employees in IGM's business success.
About the role
Part of the IGM Human Resources team, the Digital Specialist, Employee Communications (EC) will partner closely within the team to help to improve the employee experience, developing innovative, proactive, metrics-based digital communication practices and tactics.
The Digital Specialist role is an individual contributor, based in Toronto, in a hybrid workplace environment.Key Accountabilities:
Digital communications planning & optimization
- Partner with the Employee Communications team on the shared editorial calendar to plan and execute daily news articles, and special / timesensitive updates posted on our digital channels
- Help plan and execute programspecific intranet hubs/sections for key business priorities (e.g. community, DEI, and leader hub) delivering optimal layout and functionality for a fulfilling employee experience
- Lead and/or support projects to improve sections of the intranet or deliver new tools, functionality and/or intranet platforms as needed
- Manage and/or partner to provide metrics & share insights via a quarterly report on digital channel effectiveness use analytics, datadriven insights, and industry trends to help measure the success of communications and inform continuous improvements and optimizationDigital communications planning & optimization
- Manage the daytoday intranet site and visual content including visual design, site navigation, site content engagement, and user training while adhering to brand compliance to deliver a strong employee experience
- Publish content on a daily basis for employee intranets including text, images, and videos, including manage the homepage to maintain a proper balance of content and tools
- Provide documented instructions and intranet training to users of all different levels (including average users, content owners, Employee Communications team) to continue to build a selfserve model
- Support department efficiencies to optimize digital communication standards including documenting, implementing and crosstraining team on work processes/practices as needed
- Audit intranet regularly with a focus on the homepage to ensure content is accurate, appropriate and timely
- Partner with internal partners (e.g. I.T.) and vendors (e.g. Habanero) on digital technology implementations, issues and upgrades
- Support administration requirements for digital tools (may include Staffbase and Airtable)
