Role Summary:


The Manager, Communications, creates, implements and oversees internal and external communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its services, mission and vision.

The role is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating communications activities, developing and implementing communications strategies, providing strategic communications recommendations to CCRM's business units and affiliated/subsidiary companies, and developing and executing communications initiatives on behalf of these affiliates/subsidiaries.

The Manager, Communications, also drives reputation management through public relations and media relations activities.

These will include media monitoring and producing news releases and bylined articles that position the organization and advance its commercial objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop external and internal communications plans, as required, and measure the success of communications activities on an ongoing basis using digital metrics and software.
  • Position and raise awareness of CCRM's subsidiary OmniaBio using paid, earned, owned and social channels to deploy positioning messaging.
  • Help direct the development of and produce content that positions the organization and communicates key messages. For example, directing the work of agencies/contractors developing visual content to represent CCRM and OmniaBio; planning, developing, evaluating and maintaining OmniaBio's intranet and website; creating copy and design for marketing materials (i.e. brochures, ads, etc.); writing and editing articles, reports, blog posts, and other communications materials.
  • Help plan and lead change management activities.
  • Research, organize and write newsletters.
  • Work with the Communications team to manage workshops and events for CCRM and OmniaBio, and to organize facility tours, providing support with logistics, promotions and planning. This includes project managing the conference (booth) presence.
  • Help to manage the corporate reputation and media relations activities. This includes conducting regular media monitoring and reporting on key issues and trends; supporting media relations efforts by writing news releases and advisories, creating media lists, coordinating distribution of media materials, etc.; offering media training tips and advice to colleagues; and, monitoring award opportunities for executives and the organization, and writing submissions.
  • Provide strategic communications recommendations to CCRM's business units and subsidiaries, and project manage, develop and execute communications activities on their behalf, as well as edit and proofread job postings, reports and other documents.
  • Support and help lead OmniaBio's digital marketing strategy.
  • Design visual communications when required, such as logos, social media assets, etc.
  • Take on special projects and campaigns, as required.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with specialized training in public relations, communications, marketing or journalism in a master's degree or diploma program.
  • Four to six years of communications and/or marketing experience in a corporate, agency, university or hospital setting.
  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to express complex ideas simply and directly.
  • Able to absorb technical information and craft a unique and compelling narrative.
  • Experience with media monitoring tools and Mailchimp or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS, and experience with WordPress, SEO optimization, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience in developing brandaligned visuals, images and templates using Adobe design software and Canva.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 software and tools.
  • Social media user.

Desired Characteristics:


  • Undergraduate degree in science or engineering.
  • Knowledge of regenerative medicine and cell and gene therapies.
  • Experience developing successful marketing campaigns including gotomarket strategies, value propositions, tactical marketing plans and content.
  • Digital marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (intranet) and Hubspot (customer relationship management).
  • Familiarity with producing and editing video content using specialized software.
  • Familiarity with podcasting.
