Job summary
The Radiation Therapy Service Technologist Trainee performs various duties related to maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, testing of radiation therapy equipment under Medical Physics Leader direction.Maintain service troubleshoot test radiation therapy equipment including linear accelerators cobalt units low energy x-ray units simulators remote afterloading devices ancillary systems.
Assess report ability treatment machines function manufacturers specifications program perform RF tuning beam steering beam energy adjustments handle activated components disassemble equipment decommission establish maintain high vacuum accelerating waveguides collaborate repair related electronic equipment dosimeters electrometers scanners assess performance verify calibration second source mechanical electrical components conduct quality control safety checks maintain records documenting maintenance service parts calibration tests modifications performed participate care team functioning technical resource staff including physicists nurses oncologists physics students provide orientation correct operating procedures new staff assigned contribute radiation therapy performing designing constructing testing electronic accessories.
