    Summer Student – IT Assistant

    Position Summary

    Reporting to the IT Assistant Manager, the incumbent will utilize inventory management software to analyze and review inventory data, and assist in web application supports and development. Additional tasks will be assigned according to the projects being completed by the IT department.

    Main Duties

  • Physical stock audit and updating inventory record;
  • Create inventory reports;
  • Build, design, deploy and maintain web applications;
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a recognized university or college in Computer Science and related studies;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Power BI;
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CMS (WordPress);
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational and time management skills;
  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese/ Mandarin, both oral and written.

    • Other Requirements:

    All the summer student positions are funded to promote the employment opportunities for students. The position and the duration of it are subject to the funding approval. To be eligible for the program, job applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • Registered as full-time students in the previous academic year, and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act Footnote 6;
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
