We are seeking a senior operations leader (Manager of Projects) for our energy portfolio within Jacobs Environmental Solutions (ES) business unit in Canada.

You will provide connected leadership, overarching management, and data-driven decision-making for the purposes of delivering exceptional client solutions and increasing the profitability of the business unit.


Based out of a Jacobs Canada office, you'll manage the governance of environmental projects aligned to the ES Energy Portfolio, and coach and develop a team of talented Designated Project Executives (DPEs) and Project Managers (PMs).

This position will report to the Director of Energy Portfolio Operations in ES and work in partnership with Client Account Managers, Senior Directors of Sales, and our broader Talent Management and Operations organization to effectively support business growth and diversification in Canada.


Profit and loss-related responsibilities include developing an Annual Business Plan, delivering forecasts to meet plan goals and growth, and delivering gross margin within budget for more than 100 projects.

You'll drive collaboration with Talent Management to support current and future staffing needs, including shared PM hires across portfolios. A comprehensive approach to growing our Canada resources will be needed that aligns with our strategic and top pursuits.


Responsibilities:


  • Emphasize project safety, environmental compliance, and our culture of caring values.
  • Mentor operations staff on effective communication, strategic delivery, pricing strategies, and sales program fundamentals.
  • Work collaboratively across functions to deliver quality solutions that meet contractual obligations, exceed client expectations, and meet financial targets.
  • Identify when business management system policies are triggered and ensure operations staff obtain the necessary input and approvals.
  • Identify and communicate project risks and define mitigation.
  • Manage gross margin and revenue recognized via the DPEs review and approval of estimatesatcomplete.
  • Engage internal resources (contracts, insurance, risk, security, human resources, etc.) when needed to resolve challenges encountered during project delivery.
  • Ensure succession plans are in place for individuals in key roles.
  • Supervise 10 to15 DPEs and senior PMs.
  • Create a work environment where our differences are accepted, celebrated, and harnessed to bring the innovative, extraordinary solutions our clients demand from us.

Here's What You'll Need:


  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in business/project management.
  • Experience with the environmental market and environmental service offerings (remediation and regeneration, environmental planning and permitting, compliance, and sustainability consulting).
  • Private sector experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in an environmentalrelated field of study.
  • History of building and cultivating partnerships with clients.
  • Experience managing senior teams.
  • Proven ability to work across geographies and cultures, including strong engagement of Indigenous communities.
  • For complex projects, experience developing delivery strategy and pricing, and managing a team to drive profitability.
