Looking for a rewarding career where you can share your expertise in an intern capacity? Seize this opportunity to embody our organizational values within our Precinct Properties Branch (PPB), which is responsible for all capital works renovation/restoration projects, mechanical and electrical upgrades, repairs, and the day-to-day maintenance of the Legislative building and grounds.

As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Director of Precinct Properties, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of architects, engineers, conservators and researchers, and industry specialists driven by a singular goal to help preserve Ontario's Legislative building.

This internship will provide students with an opportunity to be a member of our multi-disciplinary team.

This internship requires the individual to work in the office full time.

You'll support our collaboration as you

  • Support branch staff by carrying out various administrative duties (i.e. filing, printing, etc.)
  • Assist branch project staff with producing architectural drawings and graphic materials
  • Contribute to the design process by utilizing various software platforms in addition to AutoCAD such as, the Adobe Creative Suite, Word and Excel
  • Assist branch staff with project related research
  • Participate in the review of design documents and contract administration
  • Attend project team meetings
  • Other general clerical duties as required

You demonstrate excellence through your

  • Enrollment in an accredited program working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in an integrated office that utilizes a dynamic team of architects, engineers, conservators and researchers and industry specialists
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to read and comprehend architectural drawings
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently as required for assignments
  • Excellent judgment and problem solving skills
  • Creative design portfolio is an asset
  • Strong communication, teamwork, graphics and organizational skills are essential
