Join our team as a Staff Education Coordinator
As the Staff Education Coordinator at Jarlette Health Services, you will work under the direction of the Director of Resident Care, and will provide leadership for coordinating and meeting the learning and educational needs of the staff at the home. This role promotes educational growth and knowledge through in-services, seminars and continuing education to meet the changing needs in Long Term Care and takes into account those factors that the residents indicate are important to their quality of life.
The following traits and qualifications are required:
Must have a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Post-secondary diploma or degree in education or related field and/or experience in adult education is desirable
2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred
Knowledge and experience with RAI/MDS is preferable
Experience with Software platforms such as PCC,Surge etc is an asset
Must demonstrate an interest and actively participate in ongoing education
Must be computer literate
Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ensures the accurate completion of the resident's records reflecting the resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and home requirements
Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and nursing personnel
Promotes a positive learning environment for all staff and responds to work questions/inquiries regarding all aspects of the learning process.
Coordinates student placements and manages applicable government programs
