Project Manager
Our client is a respected supplier of custom-designed equipment to steel manufacturers throughout North America.
Due to its continued penetration of the market and sales growth, our client is seeking a Project Manager to join their team.
This position would perform a critical role in the company, ensuring that their equipment is managed with a focus on cost, quality, and timing.
The Project Manager would coordinate the project to completion. A critical component of the position is meticulous planning and organization that ensures seamless, trouble-free installation. The Project Manager will be the 'face' of the company as they interact with our customers.Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the smooth execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within the scope, and under budget.
- Support the development of the project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal and external participants.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress including resource requirements. Communicate progress on a regular basis to all relevant parties.
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedules, and budgets obtaining appropriate approvals as required. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and longterm goals.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools including Microsoft Project, Open Issue Matrix, Excel, and various finance tools.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Liaise with engineering to develop project scope detail, prepare schedules, and develop internal/onsite contingencies.
- Support and maintain relationships with the customer and third parties/vendors.
- Effectively communicate with customers to clarify specifications and define requirements of each project.
Attributes
- Technical knowledge and 5 years of practical experience managing projects involving customdesigned heavy machinery.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and detail drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively perform this role, providing clear and concise communications to all parties involved in projects.
- Bilingual French is an asset but is not mandatory.
- Possess valid passport and driving license and be able to travel freely to the U.S.A.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Ensure that correct resources are coordinated for the installations including personnel, equipment, rentals, hotels, and other tools as required.
- Coordinate with the Installation team to ensure that all personnel have the required training/certification for the project.
- Coordinate with the Installation team to ensure all required tools, rentals, etc. have been arranged for the customer outage.
- Identify and address quality issues and shoptosite, companytocustomer, and designtoperformance problems.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary:
$90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
Project Manager: 5 years (preferred)
- Manufacturing/ Mechanical: 1 year (preferred)
