As with other federal government establishments, the Canadian Forces College is a bilingual working environment, and offers a series of professional military education (PME) programmes at the graduate level primarily for merit-selected officers in the Canadian Armed Forces (and selected international officers and senior executives working in the security sector in relevant government departments).

The intent of this process is to fill one immediate need in Toronto for an indeterminate bilingual position for the Department of Defence Studies at the Canadian Forces College, the centre of professional military education in Canada.

in defence and security studies or war studies, defence management and/or defence economics, military history, strategic studies or a relevant doctoral degree in the humanities, social sciences, public administration or commerce/business administration with a research/teaching focus on the conduct, consequences, complexity, and practices of conflict or the organization and institutional management of contemporary militaries.

EXPERIENCE:

EX1:
Acceptable teaching experience at the university in at minimum four (4) or in at minimum five (5) of the following fields:
a) Operational planning processes within militaries and 21st century security challenges;
b) Change management and organizational behaviour;
c) Public administration in Canada, especially at the federal level;
d) Theories and practices of command and leadership, both in militaries and in whole-of-government security operations;
e) Defence economics;
f) Regional area studies expertise in South/East Asia or Russia/Eurasia with a defence and security focus; OR
g) Asymmetric cyber strategies and means/modes of attack; artificial intelligence.

EX2:
Acceptable research experience* at the university level in at least three (3) of the following fields:
