NAC is currently seeking a full time Junior IT Helpdesk Co-op to join our team, based at our head office location in Morriston, Ontario

Summary:


Reporting directly to the Manager of Information Technology, the Junior IT Helpdesk Co-op student is responsible for the assisting networking infrastructure, providing employees with extensive and complete assistance in any issues they may have concerning information system technology.

The successful individual will be responsible for timely and effective resolutions to end-user productivity issues, as they relate to IT-serviced computer operations.

The individual should be able to communicate easily, technical concerns and solutions to many different people with varying degrees of technical knowledge, as well as work with individuals in all departments to help resolve issues, minimizing downtime.


  • Basic computer (Desktop/laptop) skillset to assist with cleaning up existing & old computers
  • Install printers & move computer equipment around the office where needed
  • Help connect & setup hardware
  • Help staff identifying problems within software
  • Scrap old software
  • Prioritize work according to severity.
  • Always maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for tasks and exploring opportunities to add value
  • Research and make recommendations on infrastructure solutions

Requirements:


  • Registered Coop student, currently enrolled in Information Technology or a related field
  • Should have functional knowledge of ITIL best practices, and stay abreast of new technologies.
  • Windows OS knowledge (Windows 7, Windows 8.x and Windows 10)
  • Microsoft Office 2007 to 2016 and Office 36
  • Desktop and Laptop hardware knowledge
  • Printer hardware knowledge
  • Resourcefulness and problemsolving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
  • Must be able to complete complex projects with mínimal to no supervision
  • Effective problemsolving skills
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
