Position Summary:

The Payroll & Operations Coordinator role oversees the accurate payment of the hourly workforce. In addition, this role will focus on operational administrative and entry-level management leadership support.


Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Perform all payroll activities to ensure accurate weekly driver payments.
  • Report weekly payroll KPI's to Transportation Management and Finance
  • Control and Maintain driver vacation, personal days, leave of absence
  • Provide administrative support to the Modified Work Program
  • Audit daily Hours of Service for all drivers for violations and accuracy
  • Report on driver daily KPI's
  • Responsible for data collection and entry
  • Audit both driver and company CVOR's quarterly
  • Maintain and control driver uniforms and other essential outerwear with vendors
  • Maintain and coordinate driver safety and service awards
  • Maintain and control accurate levels of office and drivers supplies
  • Maintain and control all documents regarding CHEP pallets
  • Maintain and control driver locker assignments
  • Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:


  • High School Diploma
  • 1 2 years of related experience
  • Previous experience in a Payroll related role at a highvolume, food service distribution centre or related industry
  • Ability to work well under pressure while working independently or as a team player
  • Analytical, detail oriented, highly accurate, conscientious, and dependable
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills, ability to manage customer expectations
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude that sets an example for others
  • Maintain a sense of urgency, strong multitasking, and priority management
  • Highly proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook
  • This position must pass a postoffer background check

Preferred Skills and Experience:


  • Experience with Samsara, Kronos, Vero fresh, and JJ Keller
