The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and the development and administration of human resources policies and programs.

This role is an integral part of the management team and will develop strategies for sourcing, assessing, and maintaining an online recruitment presence to attract and actively prospect talent.

The HR Coordinator will also oversee the delivery of mandatory and job-based training to employees, maintain employee files and ensure company policies are current and compliant with legislative changes and requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Track and deliver recruitment metrics and provide reports
  • Help build the company brand, establish employer value proposition, and broadcast our brand across various online channels
  • Research and recommend the latest trends and tools to strive for efficiencies and effectiveness in recruitment
  • Respond to internal and external HRrelated inquiries and/or requests
  • Oversee the onboarding process and ensure an engaging employee experience
  • Assign training and ensure completion, issue certificates and update employee files
  • Maintain employee files in both paper and the SAGE database and ensure all employment requirements are met

Education, training, and experience

  • College education in Human Resources or related field
  • 35 years' experience in recruitment/talent acquisition, preferably in construction.
  • Experience and ability using various recruitment platforms using remote video options
  • Experience in other HR areas such as Training and Health and Safety are considered an asset

Technical skills and proficiency

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Proficiency with SAGE 100 or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and/or other HR tools and software
  • IBM Blueworks and/or other process mapping and data management software is an asset

Knowledge and abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of Employment Standards, OH&S and other federal and provincial regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of human resources best practices
  • Strong social media aptitude with the ability to create engaging and impactful content
  • Excellent and engaging communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records keeping and documentation
  • Demonstrates good judgment and makes informed decisions
  • Excellent networking skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • Ability to influence others including negotiating employment agreements
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and work under time constraints
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team and independently
