Position Summary:
Supervise a team of Administrative Coordinators who support the Neuro Research Community. Monitor and manage workloads and workflow. Approve vacation and leaves. Support the team in problem resolution. Ensure continuity of service during leaves and absences. Recognize team or individual successes and address any concerns or issues that may arise.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hire, onboard and ensure appropriate training of new employees. Ensure the ongoing training of all employees as tools, systems and tasks evolve.
  • Evaluate work processes, develop and adopt common best practices. Create standardized filing conventions and other tools to facilitate collaboration and backup.
  • Maintain an open channel of communication with the researchers community on topics that impact the service they receive from their Administrative Coordinators. Reinforce the role of the Administrative Coordinator with the researchers community and respond to their enquiries regarding their administrative needs. Collaborate with the Neuro administrative team to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the administrative support to researchers. Determine adequate administrative coverage throughout the Institute, recommend and implement changes as required.
  • Collaborate with other Neuro managers and the Neuro Director of Administration & Operations to ensure clarity and alignment on business processes that impact the Administrative Coordinators and other teams.
  • Keep the Director, Administration & Operations up to date on all activities and identify any issues related to the delivery of research administrative services.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and new initiatives that support the mandate and strategic direction of the Neuro.
  • Analyze administrative problems, determine course of action, and provide advice on problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with the administrative team in the planning, creation, implementation and evaluation of surveys. Analyze survey results and make recommendations to improve administrative services with The Neuro.
  • Keep abreast of changes to the MUNACA collective agreement and to university policies and procedures that impact this position.
  • Perform other activities in support of the Neuro's Administrative Support Team, including tasks related to the management of research funds or other administrative tasks as assigned. Provide backup support within the team.
  • Work on Special Projects, in collaboration with the Director, Administration & Operations.

Annual Salary:
