Department: Operations – Microbial Remediation Processing
Reports To: Team Lead / Lead Hand
Position Summary
The Operator participates in daily Microbial Remediation production activities within a large-scale, GMP-compliant cannabis processing facility. Reporting to the Team Lead or Lead Hand, this role is responsible for operating specialty processing equipment, completing production documentation, and supporting safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate will contribute to product quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Health Canada regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
What You'll Do
Operations & Equipment
- Operate Microbial Remediation processing equipment during assigned shifts, including startup, shutdown, and daily production activities
- Maintain working knowledge of equipment, compressed gas systems, nitrogen tank handling, and weighing procedures
- Monitor equipment performance and support shift KPIs in cooperation with the Team Lead
- Troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues
- Set up and maintain processing equipment for safe and efficient operation
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Perform periodic equipment checks and escalate issues as needed
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and reliable production documentation
- Participate in preparation and completion of Batch Production Records (BPRs)
- Complete required cleaning and sanitizing activities, including weekly logs
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production activities
- Ensure updates in AMPLE are completed accurately and on time
- Complete Isolocity tasks and required training within established timelines
- Handle and document product waste according to approved procedures
Team Collaboration & Development
- Participate in ongoing training to develop full understanding of the Microbial Remediation process
- Provide feedback to the Team Lead on process improvements
- Support Team Lead and Lead Hand in resolving production issues and maintaining workflow
Compliance & Safety
- Follow HR policies and maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to Health Canada and GMP regulations to uphold quality and safety standards
What You Bring
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or cannabis processing considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate production equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
- Comfortable working with documentation and production records
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic mathematics and English comprehension skills
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 25 kg occasionally
- Bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required
- Work with tools and production equipment requiring manual dexterity
- Exposure to moderate noise, strong odors, compressed gases, and processing equipment
- PPE required in accordance with company policies and SOPs
