- Perform additional procedures for the majority of time; perform routine procedures in various sections of the laboratory as required, following established departmental procedures.
- Collect specimens from inpatients and outpatients as required.
- Perform maintenance on related equipment and reports equipment malfunctions to the Section Head.
- Perform all clerical and written tasks associated with additional and routine procedures, and compile statistics as required.
- Ensure that quality control standards are met and report problems to the Section Head as they occur.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
- Assist with orientation of new staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a recognized school of Medical Technology, plus a minimum of one years' recent, related experience. Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Certified.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
