Purpose


Reporting to the President and CEO, the Manager, Marketing and Communications will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and execution of strategic marketing and communications plans including initiatives that attract new clients and retain existing ones, building and maintaining relationships with different stakeholders such as media, politicians, corporate and community partners.

This position requires a solid understanding of the relationship between marketing, the overall business and operations. It will be responsible for identifying and engaging new clients, new partnerships and creating program promotions.

This position is measured on its ability to manage relationships with community partners, foster organizational awareness, produce media content, improve engagement, and produce measurable outcomes related to client enrollment and partnership establishment.

Key Responsibilities
Marketing

  • Analyze marketing metrics (i.e. client retention, brand awareness, stakeholders engagement) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate with the program and other management to develop the Society's Marketing and
Communications Plan annually. This plan will be aligned with the Society's overall Strategic

Plan. Results will be outcome-focused with metrics to demonstrate success

  • Work closely with program and other management across the Society to implement marketing initiatives based on market research identified new opportunities
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, symposia, educational programs, community events, etc. and represent/present the Society's programs and services as needed. Develop ongoing strategies and plans for participating in and capitalizing on these events
  • Regularly update the Society's Brand Identity Guidelines. Maintain brand identity including approving/revising materials created by other Programs.
  • Ensure marketing collateral reflects strong linkage to TIES vision, mission, and values.
  • Develop and maintain the TIES Public Relations Database (PRD) for tracking purposes and foster new/ongoing stakeholders relationship with donors, funders, partners, media, politicians for the advancement of the Society
  • Direct external requests for partnership or collaboration to appropriate colleagues. Help setup collaborations and partnership opportunities for colleagues when engaged in marketing activities
Media and Design

  • Design marketing, publicity, and communications materials for program promotion including: o Original video productions (for educational, orientation, and engagement purposes) o Program materials (brochures, posters, business cards, banners, etc.) o Societal materials (fact sheet, AGM report, signage, fundraising leaflets) o Presentations (PowerPoint, infographics) o Advertisements (banner ads, social media, website) o Photography (events, highlights, staff/volunteer appreciation)
  • Coordinate media interviews and/or speaking arrangements for the purpose of advocating the services offered at TIES
  • Create press releases, nurture key media relationships (radio, television, web) to gather public attention and increased visibility for the programs and Society
  • Assist program management to negotiate with vendors and purchase required materials related to marketing collateral and program promotion
  • Assist program management to negotiate with vendors and purchase paid advertising space for programs
Social Media

  • Oversee Social Media accounts' design (e.g. timeline, covers, layout, profile photos)
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content (text, photos, videos, and news)
  • Communicate and provide regular engagement with followers on social media (Facebook,
LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to promote positive contact and answer questions

  • Analyze metrics (engagement, followers) for brand awareness and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Secure paid advertisements with social media platforms and monitor the ROI and reach/impressions

Platforms include:
o Facebook Ads Manager - Design program promotional campaigns and marketing collateral. Work with program management to design ad sets, target audiences, and reach.

Web

  • Continually update the TIES website to stay current with web accessibility standards
  • Assist other TIES departments with the branding and presentations of their programs on the website through banner ads, program updates, blog posts, and social media updates.
  • Disseminate online registrations to colleagues in appropriate departments
  • Maintain security, purge caches, and ensure the stability of the TIES website
  • Write original articles for website/blog related to TIES achievements and events
  • Maintain the Society's Live Chat in collaboration with reception intake receptionists
