Job Summary
What is the opportunity?
As Managing Director Internal Audit - Capital Markets and RBC Non-Trading Products, you will support of the Global Vice President Capital Markets, Internal Audit in providing independent, objective risk assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management practices, internal control and corporate governance processes for the Non-Trading books in RBC Capital Markets.
It focuses on all the operational and administrative activities across Capital Market and includes coverage for Corporate and Investment Banking.
This includes all the compliance, AML, risk management and IT infrastructure that supports operations.The role works with management on achieving business objectives by creating solutions to improve business operations, while remaining objective and independent.
Results ultimately impact shareholders, employees and customers.

What will you do?
- Lead a team of directors, senior managers and professional auditors responsible for complex and large engagements in terms of product, location or client relation
- Direct, counsel, and instruct staff assigned to the engagement and review audit plan, findings and reports for sufficient scope and for accuracy
- In concert with the Vice President, develop the annual Audit Plan for RBC Capital Markets Non-Trading desks ensuring that audits conform to regulatory and internal audit requirements
- Provide input and participate in the IA Capital Market strategic planning process
- Direct/ supervise/ implement the execution of audit plan and ensure effective audit practices for traditional and continuous monitoring
- Integrate data analytics in audit execution and provide horizontal opinion on RBC Global Markets and the operations and administration activities across RBC
- Provide consulting and advisory services or lead audits which are consistent with our role to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, providing the services do not represent a conflict of interest or detract from our mandate
- Communicate trends in risk and control issues to senior management on the results of ongoing reviews of RBC Capital Markets
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 712 years' experience of Capital Market with people management
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills
- Strong organization, time management, people management and prioritization skills
Nice-to-have
- Business degree and or CPA; MBA nice to have
