    Description
    Our GFL Liquids Division is growing and we are looking for a qualified 310T Maintenance Apprentice to join our team

    The 310T Maintenance Apprentice will receive on-the-job training on performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and will assist with minor repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of company vehicles. This individual will learn how to properly maintain commercial motor vehicles according to DOT regulations and Company standards

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Perform limited repairs and preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter replacements, tire rotations, minor adjustments, etc.


    • Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times


    • Conduct vehicle safety inspections; identify, record, and report equipment deterioration for replacement or repair


    • Assist mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by supervisor


    • Tire inspections, removal and replacements


    • Fuel and wash Company vehicles


    • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to company safety procedures, and follow established techniques to perform Key Responsibilities:


    • Ensure shop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition


    • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards


    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


    • Assist in maintaining inventory and reporting in M5 program

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age

    • High School diploma or GED

    • Valid Driver's License

    • Basic hand tools and willingness to secure additional tools as needed

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of all tools required to perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles

    • Ability to follow schedules, instructions, technical manuals and maintenance guidelines, and other procedures associated with the maintenance of the company fleet

    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

    • Strong work ethic, demonstrating integrity and trust

    • Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines

    • Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a team environment or as an individual contributor

    • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports and associated documents

    • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

    • Flexibility to accept and adapt to change as well as the commitment to seek continuous improvement

    • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects (repetitively)

    • Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing

    • Ability to make simple and repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists

    • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques

    • Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures

    Working Conditions
    The Maintenance Apprentice must work inside and/or outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. May be exposed to unpleasant sights, smells, and to dangerous and/or toxic substances.

    • Employee is regularly required to speak and listen

    • Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping/gripping, and pushing/pulling

    • Work utilizing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety-toed boot, utility gloves, reflective vest, hearing and eye protection, hard hat, etc.

    • Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.

    • Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, as needed
