Your Opportunity:


The Active Treatment Center (ATC) Operating Room is comprised of 8 theatres and a 15 bed Post Anesthetic Care Unit.

The ATC is a busy and fast-paced environment and does over 10,000 scheduled and unscheduled cases a year. The Patient Care Manager is also accountable for Preadmission Clinic, Day Surgery, and Same Day Admit Unit.

This position reports to the Executive Director of RAH Operative Services (DTC OR, GOR, & OSC), EZ Centralized Programming, EZ Surgical Oversight Lead & EZ Contracted Surgical Facilities (CSF).

The incumbent will work with multi-disciplinary teams, and must be able to operationalize processes to support best practice in the delivery of excellent care to patients.

The Patient Care Manager (PCM) is accountable and responsible for participating in strategic planning, incorporating evidence, best practice and a systems approach, working collaboratively to determine priorities, develop plans, implement action and evaluate results.

The PCM is required to accomplish improved outcomes and efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety of care, patient and staff satisfaction and cost containment while meeting the vision, mission and business plan of AHS.

The PCM manages the operating budgets for the patient care service consistent with the plans and general guidelines established by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and senior management.

The PCM maintains collaborative working relationships and facilitates the implementation of changes to structure and processes in order to accomplish improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, and quality of care, promotes an environment where team members are encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge to meet patient and family care needs.

Required Qualifications:


BScN or a post-secondary degree in a related field is required with at least five years' of experience in a Management role in an Operating Room setting.

Current registration with applicable professional College required. Excellence in transferable/"soft" skills, including communication, teamwork and problem solving required. Equivalencies may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Proven coaching and mentorship skills required as well as excellent conflict resolution and communication skills. Proficiency in Outlook, Power Point, and Word required; as well as working knowledge of Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Project Management and Lean Leadership is an asset. Experience with Connect Care, ESP, e People, e Manager, Oracle is an asset.
