We are seeking
Junior Radiation Protection Technicians to join our team.

You will be part of a highly skilled and ever-growing team of individuals who have helped pioneer some of the first ever long-term radiological storage sites in Canadian history.

Your skills and work will help shape the restoration of both public and private land for future Canadians to enjoy all while developing your career in the field of radiation safety.

_Much of this work is expected to be outdoors. _


This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution and construction of the
Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) .

The PHAI represents the federal government's response to the community-requested solution for the cleanup and local, long-term, safe management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.

A day in the life:


  • Responsible for the daytoday operation of the site's radiation protection program.
  • Measurement of gamma radiation fields.
  • Measurement of surface contamination using either radiation detectors or swipe sampling.
  • Management of personal dosimeters for the workforce.
  • Deployment of radon monitors and ensure calibration of all radiation detection equipment.
  • Summary and analysis of routine data for compilation into routine reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with site radiation safety procedures by workers and visitors.
  • Support the RP management and site management teams. Support site activities by promptly responding to requests for RP services.

What you'll bring to WSP...

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in nuclear engineering, radiation protection or health physics (or related field) preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of radiation safety principles consistent with their background and training.
  • Ability to sort, compile and summarize routine data using typical Microsoft Office products such as Excel.
  • Perform all assigned tasks diligently and thoroughly assuring complete and accurate documentation as required.
  • Eligible for CNL Reliability Status ( _individual must have 3 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia to be eligible _).
