IT Technician


Location:
Terminal 1 or - Toronto Pearson Airport, Toronto Ontario


Working onsite, the Technical Filed Engineer would be responsible for providing break-fix support, replenish paper stock, performing preventative maintenance of common-use equipment and systems in the client's IT environment.

Through existing Service management processes, the Field Engineer will make every effort to restore functionality in accordance with customer service level objectives and service level agreements.

While technical skills are important to the role, a customer service focus is essential to this position.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring the resolution of incidents assigned in the agreed SLA as well as reassignment of incidents to the appropriate teams before the SLA breach is the most important part of this role.
  • Troubleshooting related to hardware and any associated repair/replacement of the equipment, peripherals, or components.
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance activities of assets according to the agreed frequency and SOPs.
  • Ensuring that spares, parts, and consumable stocks are used as per the set procedures and reporting the use of such spares or consumables in the EOD report shared to the manager.
  • Performing backup roles related to the Wipro support if any other team requests so. It is necessary for all to have been exposed to first and secondlevel roles as well as have experience with the incident escalation process. Should be available to support any emergency call even on the off days, if required.
  • Install/Move/Add/Remove of hardware equipment, peripherals, and consumables.
  • Keep track of shipments and maintain the inventory reports.

Basic Requirements:


  • Physical ability to lift hardware equipment/shipments and to work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to walk at the workplace to support the incidents and issues and review the systems by performing health checks.
  • Should be a good team player and open to working in 24/7 rotational shifts.
  • Generic knowledge of PC Hardware, Windows OS, and basic tools for repair.
  • Should be eligible to obtain security clearance from Transport Canada and Restricted Area access from Airport authorities.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, have an analytical mind and problemsolving skills.
  • Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as engineer will often be required to liaise with Airlines and clients.
  • Engineers should have good comprehension of equipment, machinery, and basic computing knowledge.
  • Should be aware of ITIL fundamentals and using ITSM tools for Incident and Service Requests.
  • Prior experience in Airport environments and IT systems will be a plus.

Work Location - Terminal 1 or - Toronto Pearson Airport
**Shift Timing:
- **Thet will be 4 days of work in a week and 3 days off.

Shift 1. 6 AM to 5 PM (11 Hours)

Shift 2. 9 AM to 8 PM (11Hours)

Shift 3. 8 PM to 7 AM (11 Hours)


Pay:
$16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:


  • IT support: 1 year (preferred)
  • PC hardware Troubleshooting: 1 year (preferred)
  • Windows OS: 1 year (preferred)
  • Install/Move/Add/Remove of hardware equipment & peripherals: 1 year (preferred)
  • Technical support: 1 year (preferred)
