The Merchandising Manager will own all aspects of D2C Physical Retail sales and profitability targets.

The role is responsible for developing the Physical Retail Forecasting & Promotional offer plans within the D2C division, providing alignment and support to Lindt Canada's overall business strategy.

Their work will result in meeting, or exceeding, budgeted sales and profitability growth targets.

This role will be responsible for linking upstream and downstream process with cross-functional team. Close and collaborative partnership will be required with Marketing, Marketing Communications, Finance, Supply Chain and Operational partners.


Responsibilities:


  • Plan and deliver annual Sales and Profit targets of Physical Retail
  • Develop Sales and Promotional offer strategies for all Physical Retail revenue streams to meet strategic objectives of profitable growth for D2C division
  • Explains variances in business performance by analyzing results and trends. Leverage learnings to deliver recommendations for future strategy and programming.
  • Regular analysis of KPI performance, pricing, offer/promotional performance, and P&L to refine strategies and plans to enhance profitability
  • Partner with Marketing and Finance to obtain analytics on overall sales goals/strategies vs expectations
  • Translate plans into thorough sales forecast working with Finance & Supply Chain Partners
  • Monitor product availability with Supply Chain and Inventory Analysts. Identify and correct inventory gaps
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners to analyze market data and business levers identifying opportunities for growth as well as opportunities to maximize existing programs
  • Execute strategies in Physical Retail with cross functional partners
  • Identify Physical Retail opportunities, drive efficient process with crossfunctional and external partners
  • Work with Planning and Supply Chain in evaluation of optimal/profitable shipping methods and cadence, managing forecasting
  • Work in strong collaboration with eShop to have winning strategies and plans for all DTC
  • Contribute to the long term omnichannel journey representing the Physical Retail merchandising channel current and future needs to win.
  • Contributes with own knowledge and expertise for sales & offer planning contributing to the Physical Retail's success
  • Deep understanding of the consumer / shopper journey across channels to feed strategies and plans.
  • Develop and execute sales plans for Physical Retail as part of the D2C roadmap, in partnership with eShop. Refines plans based on continued learnings
  • Leverage Consumer insights and consumer journey, works with cross functional partners to develop actionable strategies and plans

Requirements:


  • Post-Secondary education, preferably in Business, Commerce or Marketing
  • Experience in Retail is required with 3+ years of experience in Omni-Channel Retailing (preferably with large retail accounts within North America)
  • Strong understanding of online Specialty Gifting Retail shopping behaviours. Bonus if experienced with Premium brands.
  • Previous successful business management experience, specifically in Physical Retail
  • Understanding of Retailfocused salesdriving tactics, KPIs in working with key stakeholders to deliver holistic brand and conversion plans
  • Proven ability to develop and implement new strategies and business plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and results orientation; high work ethic and persistence to drive an initiative to completion
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation. Ability to build strong crossfunctional relationships, to understand incentives, and ensure alignment amongst stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience meeting expectations and meeting objectives in a complex, changing environment
  • Innovative and comfortable working with multiple business partners simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical abilities to synthesize data quickly and accurately, identifying relevant insights and implications to impact strategy and execution
  • Adaptability to fast paced, changing Retail environment where the objective is to be the bestinclass chocolate destination
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office
